Chinese/Vietnamese Engagement Session at World's End Hingham, MA | Alina & Ray

I recently captured engagement photos for Alina and Ray at the World's End in Hingham, MA. This adorable couple dated for 9 years. In March, Ray popped the question at a family dinner where she least expected it.

Ray and Alina absolutely love autumn in New England so we patiently waited for peak of leaf season for their engagement shoot. The vibrant foliage made for some breathtaking backdrops for the portraits.

Alina and Ray are getting married in May 2017 at Hei La Moon in Boston, MA. They are having a traditional Chinese and Vietnamese wedding banquet. I am so excited to capture the wedding videography on their big day!

The World's End is one of my favorite locations for portraits. The peninsula overlooks Hingham Harbor and offers so many different options from rustic woods to the romantic views of Hull and the Boston skyline. This is one of the best locations on the South Shore for hiking, picnicking, fishing, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing.

Hampton Beach Wedding Photo Shoot in Hampton, NH | Diana & Ian

I recently captured Diana and Ian's wedding at Lamie’s Inn in Hampton, NH.

Diana and Ian dated in high school. They lost touch after graduation but they were never too far from each other. For years, they both lived in the same town in San Ramon, CA and didn't even know it. In 2009, they reconnected on Facebook. Soon after Ian accepted a job in Maryland. Diana sold her house and moved to Maryland to be with Ian. 

The lovely couple said their "I dos" in front of a small group of their closest family and friends. After reading their wedding vows, they performed a love lock unity ceremony. Diana and Ian clasped a lock together as symbol of their commitment to each other. The lock is to be thrown in the ocean to never be opened again. 

Built in 1740, Lamie’s Inn is a charming family owned and operated colonial style inn. The inn also has an award-winning restaurant, The Old Salt Restaurant. This location is the perfect setting to host any special event such as weddings, engagement parties, baby showers and bridal showers.

Photo Booth Rental at Longfellow's Wayside Inn Sudbury, MA | Kelley & Nick

I recently rented my photo booth to Kelley and Nick for their wedding reception at the Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA. The couple got married on a beautiful fall day. Their reception was held in an elegant tent with gorgeous drapery and chandeliers hanging overhead.

Established in 1716, the Longfellow's Wayside Inn is the oldest operating inn in the United States. For the past three hundred years, the venue has held countless historic meetings, weddings, special events and functions.

Photo Booth Rental at Southers Marsh Golf Club Plymouth, MA | Meagan & Shawn

Meagan and Shawn were recently married in a small wedding ceremony on Martha's Vineyard, a small island right off Cape Cod. The following weekend, they gathered their family and friends to celebrate again at the Southers Marsh Golf Club in Plymouth, MA. The sweet couple rented my photo booth for their reception. A photo booth rental is a fun and exiting addition to any wedding or special event.

Established in 2001, The Southers Marsh Golf Club is one of the most popular wedding venues in Plymouth, MA. Just outside of Boston, MA, the venue is surrounded by perfectly manicured lawn and overlooks a 100 year old cranberry bog. This is such a lovely location in the South Shore for any engagement party, bridal shower, birthday party, wedding or holiday event.

Shattuck Golf Club Wedding in Jaffrey, NH | Maddie & Adam

Maddie and Adam were recently married at the Shattuck Golf Club in Jaffrey, NH. They met online and instantly clicked (no pun intended). This sweet coupled dated for four years before saying their "I dos." 

The wedding ceremony took place outside on the gorgeous Stone Terrace. For the reception, we moved inside to the Cathedral Ballroom where the high ceilings and lighting created a warm and inviting ambiance. Their closest family and friends gathered to celebrate and danced the night away. What a fun crowd; we had a blast!

Maddie and Adam incorporated many Jewish wedding traditions on their big day. A Jewish wedding is not complete without the breaking of the glass and the guests shouting "Mazel Tov!" And we can't forget the Hora, or chair dance. It is always exciting to see the bride and groom's reaction when they are hoisted in the air.

The Shattuck Golf Club is a premier wedding venue in New England, right on the Massachusetts and New Hampshire border. I love the drive from Boston, MA to Southern NH during this time of year because of the beautiful foliage. The Shattuck Golf Club is surrounded by pristine grass and gardens in addition to romantic views of Mount Monadnock in the background. The Cathedral Ballroom can accommodate up to 250 guests.

It was a perfect day in September, everything came together beautifully because of Jennifer Matthews, wedding planner at Memorable Events. She did an amazing job on the decor and all the details ensuring Maddie and Adam had the best day of their lives.

Boston Public Garden Engagement Shoot in Boston, MA | Otuko & Frank

I recently met up with Otuko and Frank for an engagement shoot. The session took place at the Boston Public Garden, right in the heart of downtown Boston, MA. This couple exemplified love; one could see it every time they looked at each other.

Established in 1837, the Boston Public Garden was the first public botanical garden in the United States. This is one of my favorite places in the world. I have so many memories of feeding the ducks, riding the swan boats, and walking my dog. Moreover, I even had my first date with my wife here eleven years ago. It is funny to think about how many families and couples have made special memories here over the centuries.

Otuko and Frank are getting married next spring in Lee, NH. I am so exited to work with this lovely couple again on their big day.

Photo Booth Rental at The Neighborhood Club Quincy, MA | Rebekah & Michael

I recently rented my photo booth at Rebakah and Michael's wedding reception at the Neighborhood Club of Quincy. The flower crown was definitely a crowd favorite that night! An open photo booth rental is a great addition at any wedding or event. Michael specifically requested something different, so we did a black background with blue back-lighting. We had such a great time with the bride, groom, and their wedding guests!

The Neighborhood Club of Quincy is a premier wedding venue in the South Shore, just 10 miles from downtown Boston, MA. The venue was established in 1917 as a social club. Over the past 100 years, it has evolved into a charming venue for weddings, holiday parties, bridal showers, bar mitzvahs and corporate functions. The Neighborhood Club of Quincy has five elegant rooms that can accommodate up to 200 guests and the staff were so friendly and professional.

The Farm at SummitWynds Wedding in Jefferson, MA | Brandy & Michael

Brandy and Michael were recently married at The Farm at SummitWynds in Jefferson, MA.

This was my first time capturing a rustic country wedding on a working farm quite like this. On the horizon, there was a stone barn, rolling green pastures, blue skies and puffy clouds. It was a beautiful August afternoon. Warm and sunny with a slight breeze. There were children, goats, and chickens running around in anticipation of the wedding ceremony ahead.

Brandy and Michael got married on a pasture surrounded by their closest family members and friends. The bridesmaids donned pink dresses and cowboy boots which fit so naturally in this vintage barn wedding.

The Farm at SummitWynds is located in Central Massachusetts, just 15 minutes from Worcester, MA. Built in 1945, this was once a ski lodge which was turned into a horse barn. It was recently converted to a dream wedding venue. In addition to the gorgeous stone barn and views of Mount Wachusett in the background, there is also a blueberry field, horse pastures and fields full of flowers that offer wonderful backdrops for portraits.

I am so happy to have witnessed your bond, love, and friendships. Congratulations Brandy & Michael!

Malaysian Wedding Ceremony at The Islamic Center of Boston Wayland, MA | Farhana & Anthony

Farhana and Anthony were recently married at the Islamic Center of Boston in Wayland, MA. A traditional Malaysian wedding ceremony begins with the “akad nikah.” The akad nikah is the formal marriage contract and is also known as the marriage solemnization or wedding vows.

During an Islamic solemnization, everyone is seated on the floor. The groom seals the marriage contract with the bride’s father or a “wali.” A wali is an authorized person who is the bride’s grandfather, brother uncle or close male relative.

Some brides are isolated in another room while the ceremony takes place while some brides are present in the same area but facing a different direction or sitting at a distance behind so that the groom cannot look directly at the bride. The solemnization is sealed with the groom kissing the bride’s forehead and the bride kissing the groom's hand.

Malaysian culture is a diverse mix of Indian, Malaysian and Chinese heritage. In India and its neighboring South Asian countries, women have "mehndi" or henna applied on their hands and feet for festive occasions such as weddings, religious events and traditional ceremonies.
 

The Islamic Center of Boston was established in 1979. The center services the Muslim community in New England. In November 2005, the building was reconstructed. The intricate designs on the walls, windows and floors of the mosque made the most beautiful backdrop for the portraits.

Country Club Wedding in N. Kingston, RI | Christine & Joe

I recently captured Christine and Joe's wedding ceremony at the Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingston, RI. The ceremony was supposed to take place outside in the beautifully manicured garden but there was a strong thunderstorm looming. They did not let the rain bring them down on their big day. The lovely couple said their 'I dos' with their Italian grayhound, Joseppi, right by their side. To make it even cuter, Joseppi was suited up in a tuxedo and bow tie!

The Quidnessett Country Club is a premier wedding venue in Rhode Island, just outside of downtown Providence, RI. The venue offers an incredible golf course and stunning views of the Narragansett Bay which creates a beautiful background for wedding photography and videography.

Muslim Mehndi Ceremony at Wilmington United Methodist Church Wilmington, MA | Anni & Mufrad

I recently captured Anni's Mehndi Party at the Wilmington United Methodist Church in the North Shore, just outside of Boston, MA. A 'Mehndi' or henna party is a pre-wedding ceremony where the bride-to-be, her female friends and family have elaborate henna designs painted all over their hands and feet.

Some believe that the darkness of the Mehndi on the bride's hands represents the love between the couple. Others believe that the darkness of the Mehndi represents how much the mother-in-law loves the bride.

The ceremony was beautiful! The decor was fun, colorful and lively! Anni's family and friends lined up to feed her sweets all night long.

I learned so much about Muslim and Bengali wedding customs. I found out that the bride is not allowed to do any wifely duties in the marital house (cleaning, laundry, etc) until after the henna fades away. Henna typically lasts about 2-4 weeks. Whew, good thing my wife didn't know about this when we got married.

Anni was absolutely stunning! The full video was approximately 30 minutes long, but here is a short clip of this traditional Middle Eastern ceremony.

The following day, Anni and Mufrad had a Biye ceremony. I cannot wait to post about this event as well. Stay tuned!

Engagement Session at Webb State Park Weymouth, MA | Mitch & Vadryn

I recently met up with Mitch and Vadryn to photograph their engagement session in Weymouth, MA at Webb State Park. This location offered a scenic peninsula, lush greenery and great views of the Boston skyline.
Mitch and Vadryn had their wedding ceremony a few weeks later at The Manor in West Orange, NJ.
