Muslim Mehndi Ceremony at Wilmington United Methodist Church Wilmington, MA | Anni & Mufrad

I recently captured Anni's Mehndi Party at the Wilmington United Methodist Church in the North Shore, just outside of Boston, MA. A 'Mehndi' or henna party is a pre-wedding ceremony where the bride-to-be, her female friends and family have elaborate henna designs painted all over their hands and feet.

Some believe that the darkness of the Mehndi on the bride's hands represents the love between the couple. Others believe that the darkness of the Mehndi represents how much the mother-in-law loves the bride.

The ceremony was beautiful! The decor was fun, colorful and lively! Anni's family and friends lined up to feed her sweets all night long.

I learned so much about Muslim and Bengali wedding customs. I found out that the bride is not allowed to do any wifely duties in the marital house (cleaning, laundry, etc) until after the henna fades away. Henna typically lasts about 2-4 weeks. Whew, good thing my wife didn't know about this when we got married.

Anni was absolutely stunning! The full video was approximately 30 minutes long, but here is a short clip of this traditional Middle Eastern ceremony.

The following day, Anni and Mufrad had a Biye ceremony. I cannot wait to post about this event as well. Stay tuned!

Father and Son Portraits in the South End Boston, MA | Jamal & Jahri

I recently met up with Jamal and Jahri in Boston, MA to capture father and son portraits. Jamal specifically requested a H&M ad look for this shoot. The South End was the perfect location for this photo shoot. It is such a trendy and vibrant neighborhood filled with countless restaurants, bars, and beautiful brownstone townhouses. We had a blast!

Children's Portrait at Webb State Park Weymouth, MA | LaToya & Cameron

I recently met up with LaToya and Cameron to photograph their sweet 3 year old daughter. The portraits were taken at a scenic park in Weymouth, MA, just a few miles from downtown Boston, MA. I had so much fun running around and joking with her. She had such a big personality!

Photo Booth Rental at Breakaway in Danvers, MA | Celebrating Lee’s 50th

I recently rented my photo booth at a surprise 50th birthday party in the North Shore. Lee partied the night away with her friends and family at the Breakaway in Danvers, MA. Lee mentioned that she usually isn’t a camera person, but I couldn’t tell! You can always count on a photo booth to bring out the excitement in everyone!

Engagement Session at Webb State Park Weymouth, MA | Mitch & Vadryn

I recently met up with Mitch and Vadryn to photograph their engagement session in Weymouth, MA at Webb State Park. This location offered a scenic peninsula, lush greenery and great views of the Boston skyline.
Mitch and Vadryn had their wedding ceremony a few weeks later at The Manor in West Orange, NJ.

From Last Shot Productions to Giovanni The Photographer

Hello,

For the past few years I owned and operated a production company called, “Last Shot Productions.” Wow, LSP has been a great experience affording me the opportunity to team up with so many talented people while developing a concrete understanding of a production business.

We provided multiple services; music production, commercials, advertisements, graphic design, editing, production classes, wedding/event photography, videography, music videos, and so much more. While we were successful, it became more and more challenging to maintain. After much thought and careful consideration Last Shot Productions is closing its doors.   

I want to send out a heartfelt thank you to all of the people who I have worked with, serviced and to those who have supported LSP over the years.

I have launched a new company "Giovanni The Photographer" to provide the finest quality wedding, engagement, event photography and videography services. Working alone as a one-man team will be different but it will allow me to provide the maximum personal and genuine services to my clients without stretching myself to thin.

In this new entrepreneurial journey, please help me share and grow "Giovanni The Photographer."
